"...We can't control the markets just as we can't control the future. So, the winners are simply those best positioned to benefit from a future not yet seen"...Jonathon Hoenig
It's time to take a stand on the topic of addiction and the markets.
It is no secret that a lot of what goes on in the minds of traders falls in the category of addictive behavior. No matter how you say it...many traders are addicted to the markets. It can be the red and green blinking screens all day, the neurochemical brain changes (addiction to serotonin, adrenalin or dopamine), an addictive need to always be trading, addiction to the noise and information which bombard you every day in tachistoscopic fashion. Many are addicted to the game, the high, the thrill, the expectation, the chase, the brain chemicals, the visual images, the auditory feed and the gestalt of being in the markets day after day and sometimes endlessly into and through the night.
Unfortunately, many are addicted to failure. Yes. Believe it.
As sad as it seems, there are those individuals who, whatever reason, have programmed themselves or, as a result of past life experiences, are programmed to lose. These people will moan and groan that the markets are not doing what they are "supposed" to do, or what their guru du jour said the markets were "going" to do, or lay blame somewhere--anywhere--it order to deflect it from the true source of the problem (themselves).
If you see yourself in this picture, you have made losing a lifestyle. It is not just in the markets but in your personal life, as your trading is a reflection of your life. It is your comfort zone and your own personal pity party. It makes you feel good about yourself when you lose and also good about yourself when you see others losing. This is the state of schaufenfreude, which is no where more vividly exposed as on the vituperative public stock message boards.
Well, guess what people? We at www.trending123.com have an addiction of our own. YES. We will come clean about it and expose it and ourselves in the bright light of day.
WE ARE ADDICTED TO PROFITS. More than that- WE ARE ADDICTED TO YOUR PROFITS. There. I said it, and I feel a lot better.
Why do you think that John works every waking hour with intense chart analysis and update after update, and then, after staying up half the night, goes into the trading room all day, holds your collective hands and trades with you? Why do you think your e-mails to David or Doctor Janice are answered essentially 24/7? Why do you think we spend hours on the phone with you and each other and fly thousands of miles to meet in person? Because we are addicted to doing whatever it takes to make our subscribers profitable on a consistent day in and day out basis.
I am not exaggerating when I say, without any condition, that, of all the e-mails and feedback we get, the ones that give us goosebumps and make us smile and work harder are those who tell us how much money you are making and how your account balances are increasing.
SO-there you have it.. Our secret is out. We are addicted to your profits, and your success is our success. So- it's a win-win situation. Your profits make us happy because we know you will stay with us and tell others. SO- we work harder and harder to make calls that make profits for you. It's so simple. Just take a minute to think about it.
And..based on the mails I am reading tonight, let me tell you that I have goosebumps! Thank you to everyone who has written with words of gratitude and praise. We are humbled and motivated to work harder. Long Live Our Wonderful Subscribers! Long Live Addiction Our Addiction to Your Profits!
