Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. provides offshore supply vessels for the offshore oil and gas industry primarily in the United States Gulf of Mexico and internationally. It operates in OSV, and Tug and Tank Barge segments. The OSV segment operates offshore supply vessels in the United States Gulf of Mexico, as well as supports exploration and production projects by transporting cargo to offshore drilling rigs and production facilities. It also provides support for specialty services. The Tug and Tank Barge segment primarily operates ocean-going tugs and tank barges in the northeastern United States and Puerto Rico. These ocean-going tugs and tank barges provide coastwise transportation of refined and bunker grade petroleum products from one port to another. As of March 31, 2005, Hornbeck Offshore owned and operated 18 vessels in the United States Gulf of Mexico, 5 vessels in offshore Trinidad and Tobago, 1 vessel in offshore Mexico, and 1 vessel undergoing recertification and discretionary vessel improvement. The company also owned and operated 14 ocean-going tugs and 18 ocean-going tank barges in the northeastern United States and in Puerto Rico, as of the above date. Hornbeck Offshore offers offshore supply vessels services to independent oil and gas exploration, development, and production companies, as well as oil service companies; and provides tug and tank barge services primarily to the refining, marketing, and trading companies. The company was incorporated in 1997. It was formerly known as HV Marine Services, Inc. Hornbeck Offshore is headquartered in Covington, Louisiana.
