Criticare Systems, Inc. engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of vital signs and gas monitoring instruments, and related noninvasive sensors used to monitor patients in various healthcare environments worldwide. It offers a line of patient monitors for monitoring oxygen saturation, carbon dioxide, and anesthetic agents. These patient monitors combine one or more of its patented or other proprietary technologies with monitoring technologies that provide electrocardiogram, invasive and noninvasive blood pressures, temperature, heart rate, and respiration rate. In addition, the company's VitalView telemetry system allows one nurse to monitor up to eight patients simultaneously from a central location. Its monitors incorporate adjustable visual and audible alarms to provide patient-specific warnings of critical conditions, as well as display information graphically and numerically. It also develops and markets modules and stand-alone monitors for blood pressure and anesthetic gases to original equipment manufacturers. The company sells its products to surgery centers, dental and physician offices, and nursing homes through its sales force and dealer network. Criticare Systems was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
