The fund normally invests at least 98% of assets in stocks of real estate investment trusts (REITs) that are included in the Morgan Stanley REIT Index. The fund holds each stock contained in the index in approximately the same proportions as the index itself; the correlation between the performance of the portfolio and that of the index is expected to be at least 0.95. The fund may invest the remainder of assets in cash reserves in order to maintain liquidity.
