Managed access systems include mobile transmission systems, which are used for cell site aggregation and backhaul; cable telephony distribution systems, which enable cable television providers, alternate access carriers, and competitive access providers to build communication networks that support the integrated delivery of video and circuit-switched voice and data services; and edge nodes, core nodes, switch nodes, and transport switches. Voice-quality systems primarily consists broadband and narrowband echo cancellers, integrated echo cancellation, and other voice-quality solutions to manage voice quality in wireless, long distance, and private communications networks. Broadband data systems include multiservice routers, which enable carriers to integrate frame relay, asynchronous transfer mode network services, Ethernet, and Internet protocol (IP) data networks onto a converged multiprotocol label switching infrastructure (MPLS). It also includes managed edge systems, which are IP/MPLS-based platforms with service management tools. Access Products include optical networking terminals for fiber to the premise access systems. Tellabs products and services provide solutions for wireline services to business and residential customers, wireless services, and broadband data networking. The company also provides installation and professional services, such as network deployment, traffic management, support services, and training. It sells its products through its field sales force and distributors. Tellabs was founded in 1974 and is headquartered in Naperville, Illinois.
