TIBCO's solutions are comprised of four categories of software: Business Process Management Software (BPM), Business Optimization Software (BOS), Business Integration Software (BIS), and Enterprise Backbone Software (EBS). BPMS enables the automation and coordination of the assets and tasks that make up a business process. These products coordinate the human and electronic resources inside a business and their network of customers and partners. BOS routes information to appropriate recipients, lets user access information, and provides users with the ability to analyze and act on information. BIS enables companies to connect several endpoints, coordinate processes, and streamline activities across technological, organizational, and geographical boundaries. EBS enables businesses establish and manage a flow of event-driven information across their enterprise, enabling the delivery of information to various recipients, or the ability to add or modify senders and receivers of data. The company licenses its products to companies operating in various industries worldwide, such as telecommunications, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, transportation, logistics, financial services, government, and insurance. It sells its products through direct sales force, and through alliances with software vendors and systems integrators. TIBCO also offers consulting services, such as systems planning and design, installation, and systems integration, as well as software support and maintenance options, and global training programs. The company was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California.
