The Semiconductors segment offers discrete, memories, and standard commodity components, as well as application specific integrated circuits (ICs) and application specific standard products for analog, digital, and mixed-signal applications. Its products include digital signal processor, microcontroller cores, microcontrollers, and semiconductor memory and smart card products, including chips and cards. It also manufactures discrete power devices, such as power transistors, as well as standard linear and logic ICs, and radio frequency products. The Subsystems segment manufactures and markets subsystems and modules for the telecom, automotive, and industrial markets, including mobile phone accessories, battery chargers, ISDN power supplies, and in-vehicle equipment for electronic toll payment. The company offers its products worldwide. STMicroelectronics was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
