It offers specialty fertilizers, such as sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, sodium potassium nitrate, potassium sulfate, and specialty blends. These fertilizers help in improving the yield of various crops, such as tobacco, fruits, vegetables, cereals, and cotton. Iodine, lithium, and their derivatives are used in human nutrition, pharmaceuticals, polymers, and in the production of ceramics, aluminum, batteries, and other industrial applications. Its industrial chemicals have various applications in chemical processes, such as the manufacturing of glass, explosives, and ceramics. The company's other products include epotassium chloride and other commodity fertilizers. In addition, the company also imports and distributes fertilizers. As of December 31, 2004, CMCCI held exploration rights or exploitation rights to mineral resources in the valley of the Tarapacá and Antofagasta regions of northern Chile representing approximately 2,145,000 hectares. It had 6 mines covering an area of approximately 384,000 hectares. The company also held rights to exploit the mineral resources in an area covering approximately 196,000 hectares of land in the Atacama Salar in northern Chile, CMCCI distributes its products in approximately 100 countries, principally in Latin America and Asia. The company was established in 1968 and is headquartered in Santiago, Chile.
