It also sells and distributes refined petroleum products, as well as operates oil refineries. As of December 31, 2004, the company had proved reserves of approximately 3,267 million barrels of crude oil and 3,033 billion cubic feet of natural gas. In addition, it produces a range of petrochemical products, including intermediate petrochemicals, synthetic resins, synthetic fiber monomers and polymers, synthetic fibers, synthetic rubber and chemical fertilizers. China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. has a joint venture agreement with Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. and BP plc. The company was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Beijing, the People's Republic of China.
