It develops process through its Fischer Tropsch Gas-To-Liquids technology, which converts synthesis gas into liquid hydrocarbon products, such as diesel fuel, aviation fuel, naphtha, and other chemicals. The company operates in two segments, Alternative Fuels, and Oil and Gas Field Services. The Alternative Fuels segment develops and markets processes for conversion of carbon-bearing solids or gases into valuable liquid hydrocarbons. The Oil and Gas Field Services segment provides logging services in the progress of drilling operations for the oil and gas industry. Rentech's principal products include biodegradable straight run diesel fuel; naphtha; fuel for fuel cells; waxes; and other specialty products, such as synthetic lubricants, base oils, and drilling fluids. The company was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
