Renal Care Group, Inc. provides dialysis services to patients with chronic kidney failure, also known as end-stage renal disease (ESRD). It provides treatment for patients with ESRD in three ways: hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplant surgery. The company's core ancillary service is the administration of erythropoietin, which is a bio-engineered protein that stimulates the production of red blood cells. Renal Care Group also offers other ancillary services, including the administration of other drugs, tests for bone deterioration, electrocardiograms, nerve conduction studies, Doppler flow testing, and blood transfusions. As of December 31, 2004, the company provided inpatient dialysis services to approximately 200 acute care hospitals, and dialysis and ancillary services to approximately 29,700 patients through 418 outpatient dialysis centers in 33 states. Renal Care Group was formed in 1995 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
