Performance Plastics segment serves as a merchant compounder of plastics to manufacturers of plastic products. It also manufactures concentrates, masterbatches, liquid dispersions, dry colorants, and additive masterbatches for use in compounding in the plastic industry. Distribution segment distributes approximately 3,500 grades of engineering materials and commodity grade resins and compounds. It purchases bulk quantities of base plastic resins, such as polycarbonate, polyethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene; and resells them in truckload and less-than-truckload quantities throughout North America. Resin and Intermediates segment produces vinyl chloride monomer, chlorine, and caustic soda. The company principally operates in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. PolyOne is headquartered in Avon Lake, Ohio.
