Patriot Coal Corporation produces and markets coal in the eastern United States. It has eight company-operated mines, two joint venture mines, and various contractor-operated mines in Appalachia and the Illinois Basin. Patriot Coal Corporation is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
