It engages in preclinical development of stem cell therapy for indications in diabetes mellitus. The company was founded in 2003. It was formerly known as PharmaFrontiers Corp. and changed its name to Opexa Therapeutics, Inc. in 2006. Opexa Therapeutics is based in the Woodlands, Texas.
