In addition, Monsanto manufactures lawn-and-garden herbicide products for the residential market and animal agricultural products. Further, the company licenses a package of its germplasm and trait technologies to seed companies. It offers its products directly, as well as through distributors, independent retailers and dealers, agricultural cooperatives, and agents. The company was incorporated as Monsanto Ag Company in February 2000 and changed its name to Monsanto Company in March 2000. Monsanto is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
