The company operates in three segments: Consulting, Systems, and Operations. The Consulting segment provides consulting services for state, county, and community-based child welfare agencies; and assistance to local and state governments to recover available funding from state and federal agencies. It also offers aviation planning and consulting services; financial analysis, fiscal management, and billing services to schools; and consulting, technical support, and software tools to K-12 school districts, charter schools, state departments of education, and not-for profit organizations. The Systems segment implements PeopleSoft applications; provides strategic management and IT consulting services to state agencies; leverages technology, software product solutions, and systems integration to provide a variety of systems solutions; and offers software solutions to manage asset infrastructure; and develops, implements, and supports case management, docketing, scheduling, and report generating software for state and local court systems. The Operations segment provides administrative support for publicly funded health services and health insurance programs; health dispute resolution for federal, state, and local government agencies; manages government workforce-centered service programs; outsourcing, consulting, and system support services to state and local child support programs; and nonresidential correction services, including offender assessment, case management, treatment groups, educational classes, and drug and alcohol testing, as well as the collection of fines, fees, and restitution from individuals. MAXIMUS has its operations in the United States, Canada, Australia, Israel, and the United Kingdom. The company was founded in 1975 and is headquartered in Reston, Virginia.
