The company also provides spare parts, media supplies, network products, printers, installation services, operator and manager training, onsite hardware maintenance, customized software development, application software support, credit card software support, systems configuration, network support, help desk, and consulting. In addition, the company offers software hosting capabilities, which allows customers to use the software without investing in hardware and a network. The company distributes its products through subsidiaries, independent dealers/distributors, and company-owned sales and service offices primarily in the United States, Europe, the Pacific Rim, and Latin America. MICROS Systems was incorporated in 1977 as Picos Manufacturing, Inc. and changed its name to MICROS Systems, Inc. in 1978. The company is headquartered in Columbia, Maryland.
