The company operated 44 centers in 8 states, including Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia, as of November 16, 2005. The company was founded by Bahram Akradi. It was incorporated in 1990 under the name FCA, Ltd. and changed its name to Life Time Fitness, Inc. in 1998. Life Time Fitness is headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
