The Equipment segment designs, manufactures, and markets a line of wire bonders, which are used to connect very fine wires made of gold, aluminum, or copper between the bond pads of a semiconductor die and the leads on the integrated circuit package; and specialty wire bonders for wire bonding hybrid, chip on board, and other large area applications. This segment also services, maintains, repairs, and upgrades assembly equipment. The Packaging Materials segment designs, manufactures, and markets semiconductor packaging materials and expendable tools, including capillaries, wedges, die collets, saw blades, gold, aluminum, and copper wire that are used in packaging and assembly processes. The Test Interconnect segment designs and markets a range of products used to test semiconductors during wafer fabrication and after assembly and package. The company was founded in 1951 and is based in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
