It also offers R-Gator, an autonomous unmanned ground vehicle to act as unmanned scout, point man, and perimeter guard, as well as to pack/ammunition/supply carrier for soldiers. The company sells its products through various distribution channels, including chain stores, retailers, and on-line store, as well as directly to government customers. It serves law enforcement, homeland security, commercial cleaning, elderly care, oil services, home automation, landscaping, agriculture, and construction markets. iRobot Corporation has strategic alliances with Deere & Company and The Clorox Company; and TASER International, Inc. to develop a new robotic capability utilizing TASER technologies. The company was founded in 1990. It was formerly known as IS Robotics, Inc. and changed its name to IS Robotics Corporation in 1994. Further, the company changed its name to iRobot Corporation in 2000. iRobot Corporation is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts.
