Intricon also manufactures hybrid amplifiers and integrated circuit components, along with faceplates for in-the-ear and in-the-canal hearing instruments. In addition, the company manufactures a family of safety needle products for an original equipment manufacturer customer that utilizes insert and straight molding capabilities. It also manufactures and sells thermistors and film capacitors. The company's targeted customers in the medical market include medical product manufacturers of portable and lightweight battery powered devices, and large AC-powered units found in clinics and hospitals, as well as a variety of sensors designed to connect a patient to an electronic device. Intricon has operations in the United States, Asia, and Europe. The company was founded in 1930. It was formerly known as Selas Corporation of America and changed its name to Intricon Corporation in April 2005. Intricon is headquartered in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
