As of January 14, 2008, Forestar Real Estate Group owned approximately 374,000 acres of real estate located in 9 states; and had 24 real estate projects representing approximately 27,000 acres consisted of 30,000 residential lots and 1,900 commercial acres, as well as managed 622,000 net acres of oil and gas mineral interests. The company was founded in 1955 and is based in Austin, Texas.
