The company's assisted living services consist of medication management and supervision; reminders for dining and recreational activities; assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming; incontinence care and assistance; psycho-social support; dining assistance; and miscellaneous services, such as diabetic management, prescription medication reviews, transfers, and simple treatments for assisted living residents. Emeritus Corporation's special care programs include personalized environment, activities planned to support interactions, and specialized dining and hydration programs, as well as partnerships with families and others through support groups, one-on-one meetings, and educational forums for residents with Alzheimer's and related dementias. The company also provides management services to independent and related-party owners of assisted living communities. As of March 31, 2005, Emeritus had interests in 182 communities representing capacity for approximately 18,400 residents in 34 states. The company was founded by Daniel R. Baty, Raymond R.
