The company operates in two segments, Case Management and Document Management. The Case Management segment offers proprietary technology platform and professional services for the administration of class action and mass tort proceedings and Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructurings; TCMS, a solution installed in Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee offices to facilitate the management of asset liquidations, creditor distributions, and government reporting; CasePower, a proprietary software designed to enable Chapter 13 bankruptcy trustees to manage debtor payments, creditor distributions, and government reporting; and database processing, maintenance, and management products and services. It also provides database conversion and software upgrades; professional and support services, including case management, claims processing, claims reconciliation, and customized programming and technology services; and call center support. The Document Management segment provides legal noticing services, reimbursement of costs incurred on postage, media campaign and advertising management, and document custody services. EPIQ Systems was incorporated in 1988. It was formerly known as Electronic Processing, Inc. and changed its name to EPIQ Systems, Inc. in 2000. The company is headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas.
