Equity Lifestyle Properties qualifies as a REIT under the Internal Revenue Code and would not be subject to federal income tax to the extent it distributes at least 90% of the taxable income to its stockholders. The company was incorporated as Manufactured Home Communities, Inc. in 1992 and changed its name to Equity Lifestyle Properties, Inc. in 2004. Equity Lifestyle Properties is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
