The company has strategic alliances with Sprint Corporation, which provides that EarthLink would be the preferred high-speed Internet service provider for Sprint's local residential and small business customers. It also has marketing relationship with Dell, Inc. In addition, EarthLink has an agreement with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks to offer its broadband Internet services over their systems. The company also offers Internet access software and tools to prevent advertising windows from appearing above or under a customer's main browser window; block spams; protect against spyware and phisher site scams; and block virus. EarthLink was founded by Sky Dayton in 1994. The company is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
