The company's network services include network origination and master control; transport and connectivity; consulting; engineering and systems integration; and network operations, field service, and call center services. Ascent Media Group's customers include motion picture studios; independent producers; broadcast networks; programming networks; advertising agencies; and other companies that produce, own, and/or distribute entertainment, news, sports, corporate, educational, industrial, and advertising content. In addition, the company holds 50% interest in Discovery Communications, Inc., which operates and manages a portfolio of channels; and provides original and purchased cable and satellite television programming in the United States and internationally. Discovery Communications also operates a chain of retail stores that offer technology, kids, lifestyle, health, science, and education-oriented products, as well as distributes digital-based educational products to schools and consumers in the United States. The company was incorporated in 2005 and is based in Englewood, Colorado.
