Dialysis Corporation of America, through its subsidiaries, engages in the development and operation of outpatient kidney dialysis centers. The company provides dialysis and ancillary services to patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, also known as end-stage renal disease (ESRD) through these centers. It also provides acute inpatient dialysis treatments in hospitals, homecare services, and dialysis center management services. As of September 30, 2005, the company owned 24 operating dialysis centers located in Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia; and managed 2 other dialysis facilities located in Ohio and Georgia. Its ancillary services to ESRD patients include the administration of certain prescription drugs. Dialysis Corporation was organized in 1976 and is based in Linthicum, Maryland.
