CTS Corporation engages in the design, manufacture, assembly, and sale of components and sensors, as well as provision of electronics manufacturing services. The company primarily operates through two segments: Components and Sensors, and Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS). The Components and Sensors segment offers quartz crystals and oscillators used in public infrastructure and networking for the communications and computer markets; automotive sensors and actuators used in the automotive market; terminators, including ClearONE terminators used in computer and other high speed applications; potentiometers, resistor networks, and switches used to serve various markets; and ceramic filters and duplexers used in communications and computer markets. It also offers pointing sticks/cursor controls for computers and games; piezoceramics substrates and assemblies used in medical, industrial, and other applications; and low temperature cofired ceramics for applications, such as global positioning system devices and electronic substrates used in various automotive and communications applications. Its products are primarily sold to automotive, communications, and computer original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The Electronics Manufacturing Services segment provides assembly of electronic and mechanical components into a finished subassembly, including printed circuit assembly, or the final assembly of a product. It also includes the design of interconnect systems and backplanes. EMS primarily offers its services to the computer and communications OEM markets, networking, medical diagnostic and imaging, industrial, and automotive industries, as well as to consumer electronics, instruments and controls, and defense/aerospace markets. It sells its products through independent manufacturers' representatives and distributors. The company was established in 1896 and is based in Elkhart, Indiana.
