Comarco, Inc., through its subsidiary, Comarco Wireless Technologies, Inc., provides wireless test solutions for the wireless industry. It operates in three businesses areas: Wireless Test Solutions (WTS), Emergency Call Box Systems (Call Box), and Mobile Power Products (ChargeSource). The company's WTS business designs and manufactures hardware and software tools for use by wireless carriers, equipment vendors, and others. Radio frequency engineers, professional technicians, and others use these tools to design, deploy, and optimize wireless networks; and to verify the performance of the wireless networks and resulting quality of service once deployed. Its Call Box business designs and manufactures emergency call box systems for state and local government agencies primarily located in California, which provide emergency communication over existing wireless networks and are deployed along highways, and at schools, universities, shopping centers, and parks. In addition to call box products, the company provides system installation and long-term maintenance services. As of December 31, 2004, Comarco maintained approximately 12,000 call boxes. The company's ChargeSource business designs universal power adapters for notebook computers, cellular telephones, digital versatile disks, personal digital assistants, and other handheld devices. Its current and planned product offering consists of alternate current (AC)/direct current (DC), AC, and DC power adapters designed for the right mix of power output and functionality for various retail, original equipment manufacture, and enterprise customers. Comarco markets its products through direct sales force and through independent sales representatives, as well as through affiliated and unaffiliated resellers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Comarco has a strategic agreement with Belkin Corporation to distribute its ChargeSource products. The company was founded in 1960 and is headquartered in Irvine, California.
