Crown Castle International Corp. (CCI) engages in the ownership, operation, and lease of towers for wireless communications. The company leases antenna space on its towers that accommodates multiple tenants, as well as provides certain network services, such as antenna installations, network design and site selection, site acquisition, site development, and other services to its customers. As of December 31, 2004, CCI owned, leased, or managed 12,000 towers, including 10,612 towers in the United States and Puerto Rico, and 1,388 towers in Australia. It offers its services primarily to various wireless communications companies that provide cellular, personal communications services, specialized mobile radio, 3G, broadband data services, and paging services in the United States and Australia. CCI was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
