The Television segment consists of CBS Television comprising the CBS Network; 40 owned broadcast television stations; television production and syndication operations; Showtime Networks; and CSTV: College Sports Television, a cable network and online digital sports media business. The CBS Network distributes schedule of news and public affairs broadcasts, sports and entertainment programming, and feature films to domestic affiliates. The television production and syndication business includes the production, acquisition, and distribution of programming, including series, specials, and made-for-television movies. The Showtime Networks business owns and operates three subscription television program services. This segment also has The CW., a broadcast network and 50/50 joint venture with Warner Bros. Entertainment. The Radio segment owns and operates radio stations in the United States. It provides a range of programming formats, such as rock, oldies, all-news, talk, adult contemporary, sports/talk, and country. As of March 1, 2007, this segment owned and operated 144 radio stations serving 31 the U.S. markets. The Outdoor segment sells advertisement space on various media, including billboards, posters, transit shelters, buses, rail systems, mall kiosks, masts, and stadium signage. The Publishing segment publishes and distributes consumer books under imprints, such as Simon & Schuster, Pocket Books, Scribner, and Free Press. The company was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in New York, New York.
