It invests in the U.S. treasury securities, U.S. government agency securities, state and municipal securities, mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, corporate bonds, and venture capital investments. As of September 30, 2005, Cathay Bank operated 29 branches in; 1 branch in Washington State; 4 branches in New York State; 1 branch in Massachusetts; 1 branch in Houston, Texas; and representative offices in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
