Ameron International Corporation manufactures engineered products and materials for the chemical, industrial, energy, transportation, and infrastructure markets. It has four groups: Performance Coatings and Finishes (PCF), Fiberglass-Composite Pipe (FCP), Water Transmission, and Infrastructure Products. The PCF group offers coatings and surfacer systems worldwide. Its products are used to preserve structures, such as metallic and concrete facilities and equipment from degradation by corrosion, abrasion, marine fouling, and other forms of chemical and physical attack. It markets its products to marine, offshore, petrochemical, power generation, chemical, steel, and pulp and paper industries. The FCP group provides filament-wound and molded composite fiberglass pipe and fittings for various process industries, including industrial, petroleum, chemical processing, and petrochemical industries for service station piping systems, aboard marine vessels, and offshore oil platforms. The Water Transmission group offers concrete and prestressed concrete cylinder pipe, steel pipe, and reinforced concrete pipe for water transmission, storm and industrial waste water, and sewage collection. Its customers include local, state, and federal agencies; developers; and general contractors. The Infrastructure Products group supplies ready-mix concrete, crushed and sized basaltic aggregates, dune sand, concrete pipe, and box culverts primarily to the construction industry in Hawaii. It also offers concrete and steel poles for highway, street and outdoor area lighting, and for traffic signals in the U.S. Ameron markets its products through direct sale force, manufacturers' representatives, distributors, and licensees. The company, formerly known as American Concrete Pipe Co., was founded in 1907. It changed its name to American Pipe and Construction Co in 1942; to Ameron, Inc. in 1970; and to Ameron International Corporation in 1996. Ameron is headquartered in Pasadena, California.
