Astro-Med, Inc. engages in the design, development, manufacture, distribution, and servicing of hardware and software systems that acquire, store, analyze, and present data in multiple formats globally. It operates through three segments: Test and Measurement, QuickLabel Systems, and Grass-Telefactor. The Test and Measurement segment offers a suite of ruggedized products, which consist of printers and Ethernet switches designed to withstand the rigors of airborne and other military applications for aerospace, automotive, pulp and paper, metal mill, transportation, and manufacturing industries. The QuickLabel Systems segment provides digital color label printers and its line of entry-level barcode/single-color digital label printers, which are used by manufacturers and producers to print short runs of custom labels in-house. This segment also offers printing supplies and label creation software that are used in the printing system, as well as offers consumable line of products, including monochrome transfer ribbons, and label, tag, and thermal transfer ribbons. The Grass-Telefactor segment offers a range of instrumentation and supplies, including in-lab, in-hospital, and ambulatory integrated systems for clinical EEG and PSG, epilepsy diagnosis and surgery, critical care, and intraoperative neuromonitoring for clinical and biomedical research applications. The company markets and sells its products and services through a distribution structure of sales personnel, manufacturing representatives, and dealers. Astro-Med was founded in 1969 and is based in West Warwick, Rhode Island.
