As of September 30, 2005, it had 497 diagnostic imaging systems comprising 350 magnetic resonance imaging systems and 58 positron emission tomography and positron emission tomography/computed tomography systems. The company serves various customers, including equipment manufacturers, community medical centers, university hospitals, community medical centers, clinics, and physical groups in 44 states. Alliance Imaging, Inc. was founded by Richard Zehner in 1983. The company is based in Anaheim, California.
