This segment also operates airport-to-airport routes on a specific schedule. The AMC Charter segment provides full planeload charter flights to the U.S. military. The Commercial Charter segment provides planeload of capacity charter services to charter brokers, freight forwarders, direct shippers, and airlines. The company serves the air freight industry by operating aircrafts on behalf of airlines, freight forwarders, and the U.S. military. It operates in Asia, the South Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, South America, and North America. As of December 31, 2006, the company operated a fleet of 38 Boeing 747 freighter aircraft. Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings was founded in 1992 and is based in Purchase, New York.
